Mobile-Mind Announces XAPwords™ SAT® and GRE® Test Prep Application Developed for QUALCOMM

April 16, 2003 - Watertown, MA. USA

Mobile-Mind Incorporated and Xap Corporation today announced XAPwords™, a wireless application that enables students to prepare for the Scholastic Assessment Test® (SAT) and the Graduate Record Examination® (GRE), even when they're on the go. XAPwords™ was developed for QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless™ (BREW) platform.

XAPwords™ helps students prepare for standardized college exams with a vocabulary builder that includes 500 of the most frequently tested SAT® and GRE® words. Students can use the XAPwords™ application to study words and definitions, take quizzes, track scores, and make personalized Flash Cards on their mobile phones. An additional XAPwords™ feature, "My History", allows students to review progress and track performance. XAPwords™ gives students the opportunity to put an interactive vocabulary-enhancing product into their pockets and backpacks.

"We are delighted to offer Xap's outstanding test prep materials to BREW operators and their wireless subscribers," said Bill Mangino, vice president of sales & marketing, Mobile-Mind. "XAPwords is a breakthrough application that puts test preparation resources at the fingertips of every student with a BREW-enabled wireless phone. By simply downloading the XAPwords application, students can access it at any time from any location, turning spare minutes into productive study time."

"XAPwords is the first in a suite of wireless educational applications we will roll out with Mobile-Mind in the coming months," said Allen Firstenberg, president and CEO, Xap Corporation. "As the number of students using BREW-enabled phones continues to increase, we expect there to be significant demand for these products. BREW operators now have an exciting new offering for an important target market - teens. We expect XAPwords to gain plenty of attention and applause from parents monitoring their child's mobile use as well."

"Mobile-Mind's useful applications not only arm students with the necessary tools to prepare for their important college entrance tests, but demonstrate the broad range of content that is being created using BREW," said Jan Lezny, senior director of developer and OEM relations. "Mobile-Mind and Xap Corporation set the stage for operators interested in offering engaging productivity tools for consumers and in this case teens and other users preparing to enter the college or graduate school."

XAPwords™ was developed by Mobile-Mind, Inc., and is powered by Number2.com, a division of Xap Corporation. XAPwords™ is the latest addition to Mobile-Mind's mobile learning suite. Related mobile learning products include ASL FingerSpelling, Mobile-Lingo, Mobile-Q and coming soon - XAPmath™, and XAPverbal™.

Deployments of the BREW solution continue as operators throughout the world join Verizon Wireless and ALLTEL in the United States, KTF in South Korea, KDDI in Japan, China Unicom, the joint venture between Telefónica Móviles and Portugal Telecom in Brazil and Telstra in Australia, in commercializing BREW-based services. U.S. Cellular has also launched a BREW user trial. More than 40 BREW-enabled handset models have been offered to consumers worldwide and more than 40 device manufacturers have indicated their interest in the BREW platform.

QUALCOMM's BREW solution is a complete product and business system for the development and over-the-air deployment of data services on wireless devices. The BREW solution provides the necessary tools and value-added services to developers, device manufacturers and wireless operators for application development and distribution, device configuration, and billing and payment.
