BIRMINGHAM, AL - (January 21, 2004) - Emageon, a leading provider of intelligent visual medical systems, has joined IBM's ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the specific information technology (IT) needs of small and medium business (SMB) companies. Customers are seeking solutions that help them better integrate processes and applications internally and externally and allow them to quickly respond to changing market opportunities on demand.
Emageon's Intelligent Visual Medical SystemTM provides a rich suite of products that provides access to visual medical content using advanced visualization tools and specialized workflow through a dynamic user interface. Emageon is collaborating with IBM to deliver this solution on a high availability hardware platform that utilizes IBM's open infrastructure. Working together, Emageon and IBM have implemented these systems in over 30 hospital client sites to date. Emageon believes that by enabling its products on IBM eServerTM xSeriesTM on Linux and FAStT Storage ServerTM, it will expand into the SMB market faster and more effectively than is possible with proprietary platforms.
