Momentum Continues as Gomez Achieves Record Q1 2005 RevenuesCareerbuilder, Thomas Cook, and USA Today join the growing list of world-class companies that fuel record revenuesWaltham, Mass., May 5, 2005 – Gomez®, Inc., the leading Internet performance management intelligence company, today announced record revenue and bookings for the quarter ended March 31. This represents the company’s fourteenth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. Bookings and revenue increased 72% and 57% respectively, compared to the same quarter last year. New business and contract enrichments generated 52% of quarterly bookings and included a record number of new customers. The company attributes these results to strong market demand for external performance monitoring and the unique value of the Gomez Performance Network (GPN), its flagship service. In a recently published survey conducted at its December 2004 Data Center Conference, Gartner, Inc. reported that 49% of respondents plan to invest in active, end-to-end application monitoring, making it the first choice of monitoring techniques.1 End-to-end monitoring allows organizations to view applications from the same perspective as their end users, complementing infrastructure monitoring solutions, such as Hewlett-Packard’s (HPQ) OpenView. “Best Buy works hard at creating a superior end user experience,†commented Steve Trimbo, Best Buy’s Director of Internet Operations. “We rely on the Gomez Performance Network to ensure that our end users’ experience is consistent with their expectations and our demanding objectives.†In addition to Best Buy, new customer contracts included Careerbuilder, Thomas Cook and USA Today. “We are very pleased with our Q1 results and continue to see strong demand for external performance monitoring services in the marketplace,†noted Bruce Reading, Gomez Chief Operating Officer. “Gomez will continue to work with our customers to ensure that we are delivering the right combination of products and services to accommodate the demanding standards that our customers have as they manage their external application performance environment.†Q1 highlights included:
